Rainwater Harvesting System

In 2023, Albany Water Systems designed and supplied a compact rainwater harvesting and reuse system for the 1151 Queen Street development in Toronto, Ontario. The system was engineered to recover rainwater from roof areas and reuse it for landscape irrigation reducing overall potable water consumption and supporting the project’s sustainability objectives.

System Highlights

• Above-ground rainwater storage tank complete with inlet screening, overflow protection, and level sensors
• Single-stage cartridge filtration system for removal of debris and fine particles
• Stainless steel self-priming gear pump designed for reliable operation and quick priming even with intermittent flow
• Automatic control panel with pump start/stop logic, level monitoring, and alarm indication
• Factory-assembled skid package, pre-wired and pre-tested for simplified site installation
