Sump & Sewage System

In 2023, Albany Water Systems supplied a custom-engineered sump and sewage pump system for the Gilmore Development project in Burnaby, British Columbia. The system was designed to manage both stormwater and sanitary drainage from the multi-level underground parking areas, ensuring flood protection, operational reliability, and ease of maintenance for this large-scale mixed-use development.

System Overview

• Duplex submersible sewage pump system with automatic alternation and overload protection
• Simplex sump pump system for stormwater and foundation drainage
• Heavy-duty basins with guide rail assemblies, quick-disconnect fittings, and sealed covers
• UL/ULC-listed control panels with Hand-Off-Auto switches, indicator lights, and audible/visual alarm signals
• Dry alarm contacts for Building Automation System (BAS) integration
• Check and isolation valves pre-mounted on common discharge headers for simplified maintenance
• Aluminum access hatches supplied for all pits, providing safe and durable service access
• Factory-assembled and fully tested systems ensuring efficient installation and reliable operation

Performance & Functionality

The system provides automatic stormwater and sewage removal from below-grade levels, maintaining dry and secure conditions throughout the facility. Alternation controls balance pump runtimes, while high-level alarms provide early warnings, minimizing the risk of flooding and downtime.
